Colin Boyd was born in Cowra New South Wales on 13 February 1924, one of two children to Colin Boyd and Bridget Callaghan.

A mechanic assistant, he enlisted in Leichhardt NSW on 13 September 1944. He gave his address c/- Mr A Carr at 55 Sloane Street Haberfield.

Shortly after being marched into the traing centre HQ, he was admitted to the 114 Australian General Hospital in Goulburn NSW suffering from dermatitis of the feet on 23 November. He remained in hospital until 9 February 1945.

During his time in hopsital, he was A.W.L between 2100 and 2230 hours on 3 January, resulting in a 5/- fine.

Following his recovery is discharge, he reported to the Royal Australian Engineers in Kapooka NSW on 30 April.

On 21 May 1945, Colin was accidentally killed by an explosion.

A Court of Inquiry held on 11 June determined that he was accidentally killed by an explosion which occurred on duty. The Court could not determine any individual responsibility for the cause of the explosion.

Colin was laid to rest in the Wagga Wagga War Cemetery.

Geoffrey Buckman was born in Bowraville New South Wales on 4 July 1912, one of two children to Jabez Buckman and Charlotte Eichmann. 

The family moved to Drummoyne and then Haberfield around 1935. 

A clerk, he enlisted in Paddington NSW on 3 June 1940. He gave his mother’s address as 22 Empire Street Haberfield. 

Marched in to the Shoground training area on 10 June, he was taken on strength with the 1st Royal Australian Reigment. Five months later on 22 Novemebr he transferred to the 2/15 Field Regiment. 

Geoffrey was appointed as Acting Sergeant on 30 June 1941, before promotion to Bombardier on 24 July. He embarked from Sydney five days late on 29 July. 

He suffered a bout of illness at sea before disembarking in Singapore on 23 August. 

The rank of sergeant was confirmed on 27 August. 

Geoffrey was listed as missing in action on 25 January 1942. It was later confirmed that he was killed in action on 18 January 1942 on the Malay Peninsula. 

He was interred at the Kranji War Cemetery.
